Our Story

In 2020, our family proudly took over Monteith’s Rangiora. It was a big step for us — one filled with excitement, responsibility, and a deep desire to keep this place truly local. Hospitality has always been a big part of my life, and owning Monteith’s is not just a business for us… it’s something we pour our heart into every single day. We believe in hard work, genuine service, and creating a space where people feel looked after — the same way we’d look after guests in our own home.

We’re passionate about good food, warm service, quality ingredients, and craft drinks. From premium steaks to Kiwi pub classics to fresh seasonal dishes, everything we serve reflects who we are — honest, generous, and committed to quality.

Our bar showcases the best of Monteith’s Craft Beers & Ciders, alongside Tuatara, Heineken, and a great range of wines and cocktails. With our growing collaboration with Aperol, we’ve also become a favourite spot for spritz lovers.

Community is at the heart of what we do. We proudly support local suppliers, host events that bring people together, and we’re especially known for having one of the best quiz nights in town — filled with energy, laughs, and friendly rivalry every week.

We also run and operate Station Pottery Café, a local café we took over in Christmas 2023, bringing more community, coffee, and creativity to Rangiora.
